Many Norwalk residents are now seeing more and more Spotted Lanternflies. This is a major concern for everyone. Spotted Lanternflies multiply quickly and are invasive. They are jumpers and hard to kill. They especially like the Tree of Heaven, so should you have this tree in your yard, you may want to consider removing it.

Pennsylvania infestations have caused losses of $50 million each year and hundreds of jobs were lost from destroyed crops. Residents in Pennsylvania are being told, “Kill it! Squash it, mash it, just get rid of it.”

One of the favorite foods of the Spotted Lanternfly is the Tree of Heaven (also known as Chinese sumac)
